Studio Manager

Chi Junky® is expanding its leadership team seeking a driven, inspiring and high energy studio manager to lead our team, manage the studio, develop and uphold an exceptional customer experience. This dynamic position requires a high level of professionalism, and exceptional customer service skills. 

About Chi Junky

Chi Junky® is Toronto’s premier boutique yoga studio located in the east end of Toronto in Leslieville. Our 4,000 square foot studio is a newly renovated space which prides itself on stunning design and attention to detail. It includes two practice studios, two treatment rooms, client lounge, retail, on site management office and Chi At Home, our virtual interactive livestream classes. Our mission is to provide a safe space to heal physically and emotionally through movement and music. Chi Junky is a unique yoga haven known for curating an exceptional movement experience with signature classes from Sweat Flow to Zen Vibes Only and everything in between. Each class offers premium full service amenities with killer playlists and top instruction. Our studio is rooted in building a supportive community and giving back through various charities, making yoga accessible and welcoming all to step into their Chi. 

Role Expectations:

Reporting to the General Manager, the Studio Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the daily operations of Chi Junky are seamless, while being a leader to our team. The Studio Manager is a customer service champion and will be the point-of-contact for instructors (responsible for substitutions, scheduling changes, coordination), front desk staff and our members. In partnership with the General Manager, you will be expected to contribute to strategy development and problem-solving with an entrepreneurial mentality. 

You have previously worked in a customer service sales based business, and understand the importance of excellent communication. You love accomplishing goals, developing processes, mentoring, and keeping your emails organized. You have a keen eye for cleanliness, and are constantly seeking ways to improve systems and processes.

A great team player and inspiring leader, you’re organized and willing to work in unison with the teams that you lead- leading by example. You take feedback pragmatically, address concerns in a timely and professional manner, and work to implement solutions for progressive growth. Building relationships is important to you, you’re happy to provide coaching and enjoy developing others around you. You care about nurturing our studio community and ensuring the studio experience runs efficiently to deliver a consistent and exceptional experience for staff and clients.

Role Responsibilities 

  • Manage the entire candidate scouting and interviewing process for hiring the Front Desk team

  • Delivering an exceptional on-boarding and training experience, while continuously mentoring and supporting staff for development 

  • Lead by example and maintain consistent coaching for staff members to provide exceptional customer service

  • Resolve employee issues or concerns in a professional and pragmatic manner

  • Ensure front desk operates impeccably; assisting with managing front desk & check-in 

  • Updating Standard Operating Procedure manuals and lead the rollout and implementation of any changes to the studio

  • Manage FOH and studio schedules; Ensuring all shifts are covered and provide backup support for any employee who is absent

  • Manages Instructor Subbing and schedules

  • Customer account management and retention including automated emails  

  • Retail sales including reporting, inventory product sourcing and shipment

  • Build relationships with members and assist with their membership needs and billing process

  • Studio Supply management 

  • Managing housekeeping to ensure studio appears clean with exceptional attention to detail

  • Support studio events and programs; Organize staff + member socials 

  • Ensuring the facility is ready for clients at all times; Manage and rectify all maintenance related issues

  • Develop and Track Key Performance Indicators 

  • Manage all operations for Virtual Class offering: training support staff, ensuring systems are in excellent working condition 

  • Work with the Marketing Manager towards sales goals 

  • Continually educating our front desk and wellness teams on our marketing initiatives

  • Actively working with the management team to create and maintain an energetic, positive, and inspiring work environment

Qualifications

  • 2+ years management experience, with a preference for experience in boutique wellness. 

  • 2-3 years experience in customer service sales 

  • Undergraduate Degree is preferred

  • MindBody Online system experience required
